No one blogs anymore and I can't really figure out why. Did the advent of Facebook and then Twitter shorten everyone's attention spans? Is it too hard to read more than a couple of sentences at a time? I am guilty too. I quit blogging some years back and I quit reading other people's blogs. I realized over time that I'd pretty much quit reading books as well, something that has been a staple of my life and free time for almost all of my life. How did that happen? Even at my busiest times I would read, so it can't be because life got too busy. Somewhere along the way, everyone's attention spans shortened. That's what I think happened. A collective case of ADHD. Pitiful. So I'd love to go back and see if the old bloggers I loved to read are still crafting their words in fun and sobering ways. I'd love to get back to the matter of writing and reading myself. It's perhaps a discipline like every other--you have to prioritize, make time, commit to it: like exercising and proper sleep. I stink at both of those as well.
Here's to new beginnings.
Again.
And hopefully some fresh successes. I'm now off in search of old blogs and new ones I need to discover.
